Setting up your Camera

Learn how to connect to the camera for the first time and take your first photo.

You will need a smart phone and the camera for this section.

Open the app store or Play Store on your phone search for “Mi Sphere Camera” and download it.

Turn on the camera using the power button on the top.

Click the Wi-Fi button next to the power button on the camera.

Open the Mi Sphere Camera app and click "Go".

On your smartphone, click the back button on the app in the top left hand corner.

Click on the yellow camera button in the app, and click "OK" if it asks to access your photos.

Now press the "turned on" button at the bottom of the screen and then "connect to the network". This should take you into the settings on your phone.

Go to your WiFi settings and look for the network beginning with "MJXJ-". Choose this network and type in the password 12345678.

Your phone will now pair with the camera, and the camera will beep once the two are connected.

Go back onto the Mi Sphere Camera app and click "No more reminder" and "Got it".

Spin round the image on the camera, and check there are no obvious rendering issues. There is a common issue called the Black Hole. If you see this, follow these instructions to fix it.

If you do not wish to have your photos edited by a photographer, you are setup and ready to take your first photo and you don't need to follow any more steps.

Click the settings icon in the top right corner.

Click on resolution.

Select 6912x3456 RAW. This means the camera will save a RAW file for every photo you take. You will need to send these files to your photographer to edit the photos.
